    An unassuming human, Mash is adept at blending in to a crowd when she wants to. She’s pretty, though not a runway model; she presents herself well, though not well enough to lead large groups; she maintains good posture and tone of voice, though not in a statuesque manner. She is, in all outward aspects, above average but not excessively so.

    Her dark skin and hair are complemented by subdued color schemes in her clothing, which is plain and inexpensive though always clean and neat. She prefers neither long and flowing nor tight and revealing, resulting in a conservative semi-formal style. She can’t walk in heels without holding on to something (or some unfortunate person).

  • Background

    Born into a large yet poor family, Mash began her life as a quiet observer. She learned from the mistakes of others because she witnessed so many mistakes by others, starting with her siblings and cousins who made one bad decision after the other. While she didn’t become particularly cautious, she did become observant enough to evaluate choices and scenarios in a mature fashion largely because, in the absence of responsible role models, she had to become the mature member of the family by necessity.

    The dysfunction of her household is also what taught her to let go easily, both of old connections as well as grudges. The irresponsibility of the adults and older siblings upset her, and no matter how many times she forgave them for their wasteful and self-destructive habits, she knew that she had to remove herself from such an environment. In her early teens, she joined a monastery, initially as a means of escape and a stable living situation. Over time, her magical talent led her to an apprenticeship with one of the librarians, and she spent the following decade immersed in arcane tomes of holy magic and the unholy threats it was used to suppress.
